Yogananda's Great World Wide Spiritual Legacy For this Age

Paramahansa Yogananda's Wisdom Legacy .
In a letter to Rajarsi Janakananda from Yogananda,
September 19, 1935;

" To be known by God is everything.
Like Buddha who gave up everything,
live only for God, Self-Realization Fellowship,
and Guru's work,
and you will attain everlastingness in heaven."

The masters comments from Brother Anandamoy.
Quote
"So we have to very carefully watch that it is not the rationalizations of the ego because rationalizations of the ego cannot change spiritual law."

I'll give you another example. One time Daya Mataji told us that story, she said she and some other monastics were with Master and they were discussing a monk who was no longer with the organization, and he was still giving, teaching the techniques. And he asked Master about it, can he do it? Master emphatically said, "God and Babaji ordained me to establish this organization, and this is the organization through which they work to spread the teachings. There is none other." And then one of the monastics said, "But sir, he's still giving kriya. Is it the same?" Master said, "It is not the same. The ties are broken."

That is serious business. You cannot rationalize the ego. We have to ask sincerely, are we working with the law, divine law, or against it. Rationalizations of the ego cannot change Divine Law. If a person goes against the instructions of the Master, the Guru, that's heavy karma"

orange covered holy book; "Autobiography of a Yogi." Look it up!

"The wise do not expect to reap everlasting happiness from friends, beloved family, or dear possessions! The forms of loved ones are snatched away by death. Material objects turn out to be meaningless when one becomes used to them; or when, in old age, the senses grow unappreciative, powerless. Concentrate on the immortal Spirit through meditation and find there a harvest of eternal, ever new peace!"         SRF Publishers LA USA

"Steadfast practice of meditation techniques of communion with Aum opens the portal to unending realizations of God-consciousness. Communion with Aum is the best way to worship a personal concept of God (any specific manifestation of the Unmanifested Absolute). To focus one's worship on an image or mentally conceived depiction of God in form is to limit the Illimitable unless the devotee also includes communion with Aum, the vibratory manifestation out of which emerge all "forms" of the Divine Presence. Continuous meditation on CosmicAum expands one's consciousness in that all-pervading Vibration, attuning the devotee to the omniscience and omnipresence of God reflected therein, revealing the Infinite in His cosmic forms and aspects, and bestowing realization of Spirit as Satchitananda: ever-existing, ever-conscious, ever-new Bliss. Master's Letter to a new Devotee;
"Those who have come to Self-Realization[-fellowship] truly seeking inward spiritual help shall receive what they seek from God. Whether they come while I am in the body, or afterward, the power of God through the link of the SRF/YSS Gurus shall flow into the devotee just the same, and shall be the cause of their salvation."
Paramahansa Yogananda, quoted in a letter to a Self-Realization Fellowship student, August, 1994. (c)SRF Publishing LA USA

"God has sent you to me, and I shall never fail you...Even when I am gone my help will always be given to devotees all over the world, if they keep in tune. Never think for a moment that when I am physically absent from you all, I am not otherwise with you. I shall be just deeply concerned for your spiritual welfare when I am no longer in the body as I am now. I shall always be watching over each one of you, and whenever a true devotee thinks of me in the silent depths of his soul, he will know that I am near."
Paramahansa Yogananda, quoted in the SRF calender, August, 1993. SRF Publishers LA USA.

"The person who keeps himself cleansed of all wrong vibrations
produces an uplifting effect on his contemporaries.
One moon gives more luster that ll the stars; so a mooned soul-
one who purely reflects the light of God - can influence the masses
much more than the masses influence each other."

"Even saints who engage in no outward work bestow, through their thoughts and holy vibrations, more precious benefits upon the world than can be given by the most strenuous humanitarian activities of unenlightened men. The great ones, each in his own way and often against bitter opposition, strive selflessly to inspire and uplift their fellows."

Paramahansa Yogananda's Wisdom;  May 2013
"The only way to leave this nightmare is to become more attached to God and less attached to the dream images of this world.
It is because you
have put your attention on the wrong things that you suffer.

If you give your heart to man, drink, or greed, or drugs, you will suffer.
Your heart will be broken. You must place your heart with God.
The more you seek peace with Him, the more that peace will devour
your worries and sufferings."

"All your life you have been a slave, following your whims. ...........................
My Master gave me the freedom by his guidance - freedom from habits and
moods and limiting thoughts. So let not you will be the prisoner of your habits
and whims. That doesn't mean you should not use your will. Learn to use it
with discrimination, for then you are using the will of your Father."

I was hoping this book would provide insights derived from Yogananda and help me understand the teachings of Jesus. Instead it seems to be the ramblings of an old man who has forgotten the title of the book. Instead of revealing insights about Jesus, Walters engages in extended complaints about how Christians practice their religion- they don't mention God in their sermons, the pope cannot possibly be infallible, baptism doesn't really change people. Are these revelations supposed to teach us something? We laughed about these things when I was a boy. Why does Walters belabor them chapter after chapter? And why not feature Yogananda's ideas instead of his own? I'm worried that Walters has merged his own self with that of his master and can no longer distinguish his thoughts from his masters' thought. Perhaps he thinks that whatever comes into his head is worth putting down on paper. This makes the teachings more like water than wine.

Comment From PYislove; firstly the whole title is a lie, When J Donald Walters Plagiarized/ misrepresented this work and ideas of Yogananda’s “Second Coming of Christ” he was no longer a Swami as he had been defrocked of this title upon being dismissed from SRF. And also that he had broken the vows of Swamihood and disgraced this great tradition long ago.
You don’t initiate yourself back into something you don’t even respect or understand! JDW was on this ego trip to pretend he was going to be some celeb representative of Yogananda, so he created his won very dogmatic organization called Ananda. From there, his spiritual life even went further and further downhill. Read about it at anandauncovered dot com.
